MARGARIDA MELO
Portuguese teacher, ES-PT translator, proofreader and editor
A Portuguese native, she has been living in Barcelona since 2000. Margarida Melo is a Portuguese teacher with more than 20 years of experience in teaching Portuguese as a native and foreign language.
She has a degree in Portuguese philology from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities), a postgraduate degree in teaching and pedagogy from the same university, a postgraduate degree in linguistics and a master's degree in linguistics and terminology from the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona – Institute for Applied Linguistics.
In Portugal she taught Portuguese at different schools and once settled in Barcelona she specialised in teaching Portuguese as a foreign language to companies and private individuals.
She is also a member of the teaching staff at the Centro de Língua Portuguesa/Instituto Camões in Barcelona.
In her professional career, she has worked in the publishing sector (Planeta Actimedia, RBA), and in addition to her main profession as a teacher, she is also a translator and proofreader, working with the Spanish-Portuguese linguistic combination.
Cláudia nació y creció en Lisboa y lleva media vida en España, donde ha vivido en Barcelona y Madrid. Traductora de inglés y portugués por el Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administração de Lisboa, tiene dos postgraduados: Interpretación de Conferencias por la Escuela Sampere de Madrid y Gestión de tráfico, SEO, SEM, display y redes sociales por la Escuela de Negocios IEBS.
Como profesora, se ha especializado en la enseñanza del portugués como lengua extranjera a empresas y particulares.
Ha hecho traducción técnica, jurídica, farmacéutica, social o de marketing, conoce profundamente la industria audiovisual tras doce años en Sony AXN, y ha interpretado a personalidades como Rebeca Grynspan y José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.

Inés grew up in a bicultural family environment (English and Spanish) and has lived, studied and worked in the UK (17 years), Spain, France and Germany.
Tras años escolarizada en Inglaterra, Inés se licenció por la Universidad de Edimburgo en 1999, donde estudió Lenguas Modernas. Desde entonces, ha acumulado más de 25 años de experiencia en Traducción e Interpretación de Conferencias (simultánea, consecutiva, de enlace, susurro y RSI), con experiencia en sectores como: Economía, Política y Asuntos Internacionales, organismos de la ONU, UE y OMS, Medicina y Ciencias, Cultura y Arte, Moda y Belleza.
Durante los últimos 10 años ha impartido un Máster en Interpretación de Conferencias y Traducción Profesional (EN<>ES) en la «Escuela de Traductores e Intérpretes Sampere» (Madrid), un centro educativo con más de 50 años de experiencia en los campos de la Traducción y la Interpretación. Durante varios años, Inés también impartió clases de interpretación de conferencias y traducción (EN<>ES) en la Jefatura General de la Guardia Civil (Ministerio del Interior).

Federica is from Calabria, the southernmost region of the boot-shaped country, although spending her Erasmus year in Spain was enough to make her decide to pack her bags and move to Madrid, where she has been living since 2006.
She studied Foreign Languages and Literature with Spanish and English at the Università degli Studi di Messina (Sicily), followed by a Master's degree in Translation at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a postgraduate degree in interpreting at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. There she found her great love: a very demanding and intense profession, but one that gives her a high dose of adrenaline.

Galician (from Ribeira Sacra), she has been living in Madrid since 2016. Holder of a degree in translation and interpreting from Universidad de Salamanca, she took a postgraduate course in conference interpreting at Escuela Sampere in Madrid. She also holds a Master's degree in teacher training for secondary education, vocational training and language teaching from UNIR.
She has lived in Manchester, Brussels and Paris and her areas of expertise include education, sports, environment and international cooperation.
As if that were not enough, she has 10 years of experience teaching in different educational establishments, both in Spain and abroad.

Italian by birth, she has been living in Lisbon (Portugal) since 2022. Her academic qualifications include a degree in interpreting and translation from the renowned SSLMIT in Forlì (Italy), a Master's degree in conference interpreting from London Metropolitan University and an intensive course for professional Portuguese interpreters at FLUL in Lisbon.
She has several years of professional experience in various fields (with a special focus on international and institutional affairs, trade, environment, marketing, health and wellness). She collaborates on several events at EU and UN level. Besides Lisbon, she has lived in England, Portugal, Brazil and Spain.
From a young age, Almudena has always loved languages and film. She studied at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and at the Université Lille III in Lille, France.
She has been a translator since 2008, and in 2017 she specialised in audiovisual translation, mainly for dubbing and subtitling. In this field, she has had the chance to translate scripts by Ken Loach, Roman Polanski or Niccolò Ammaniti, among many others.
She lived in Italy for almost 10 years, so her knowledge of Italian culture and idiosyncrasy is a very useful resource when dealing with the cultural complexity of certain texts. Almudena is a professional member of ATRAE and Dama.

NOELIA MORENO HERRERO

Noelia Moreno Herrero, born in Asturias and based in Barcelona since 2001, holds degrees in Hispanic Philology (Universidad de Oviedo) and Portuguese Philology (Universitat de Barcelona). She also has a PhD in Romance Languages and Cultures (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). Her thesis focused on the critical analysis and development of methodologies and materials for teaching and learning Portuguese as a Foreign Language for Spanish speakers.
Since 2015, she has been working as an associate professor at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, in the field of direct Portuguese-Spanish translation and Portuguese language teaching. She also teaches at the Centro de Língua Portuguesa/Instituto Camões in Barcelona.
En el sector privado, cuenta con 20 años de experiencia docente en la enseñanza de PLE y ELE, así como en la traducción PT>ES y ES>PT, y en la corrección de textos en español y portugués.
Maria João Teixeira Moreno, is a Portuguese language professional (teacher and translator) with 35 years of experience. Holder of a degree in Portuguese Philology and Pedagogy (Faculdade de Letras, Universidade Nova de Lisboa), she has taught Portuguese for five years in public schools in Portugal and since moving to Barcelona, 30 years ago, she has taught Portuguese as a foreign language to private individuals and in several companies and academies. She is a Portuguese teacher at the Camões Institute in Barcelona and collaborates on the official Portuguese exams (CAPLE) in Barcelona.

Holder of a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, she has been involved in all kinds of creative writing projects, in marketing projects (online campaigns, interactive training, social media), press (El Confidencial) and television.
En tele ha escrito series diarias, como ‘Yo soy Bea’ y ‘Centro Médico’, y prime time semanales como ‘La familia Mata’.
Actualmente está centrada en programas de entretenimiento. Después de la divulgación científica con ‘Órbita Laika’, se ha especializado en el humor puro, primero con La noche D (conducido por Dani Rovira en RTVE) y actualmente como guionista de ‘El Hormiguero’.
She has also performed her own comedic monologues in bars, which is a problem for her because she doesn't like doing her hair.
